On April 1 at approximately 12:30 pm, two passenger cars were eastbound on SR-29, approaching the intersection with SR-10. A vehicle was southbound on SR-10. The first eastbound vehicle came to a stop at the stop sign and proceeded safely through the intersection.
The second eastbound vehicle did not stop at the stop sign, but drove through the intersection and into the path of the southbound vehicle. The second eastbound vehicle was impacted in the driver’s side by the southbound vehicle. The eastbound driver was transported to an area hospital in extremely critical condition. A short time later, he died as a result of his injuries.
Troopers are investigating the possibility that the fatal driver may have been impaired by alcohol, which may have contributed to the crash.
Troopers are investigating and diagramming the crash scene to determine how the accident occurred.
The driver of the second eastbound vehicle has been identified as Trevor Lutes age 41 of Orangeville.
