Marilyn Guymon Fauver the wife of Phil Fauver of Orangeville, Utah turned 80 years of age on March 25, 2017.
Marilyn was born in Farmington, New Mexico and lived in Mancos Colorado with her parents Grant and Alice Guymon until in 1955 when she went to college at Brigham Young University in Provo Utah. Her parents had moved to Provo so their four children could attend college. Marilyn has a sister Mary Edna Roberg, a brother Sonny Guymon deceased, and a brother Kenneth Guymon. Marilyn married Phil Fauver June 6, 1958 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
She grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has held many offices in the church such as Young Women’s counselor, Relief Society President in the West Bend Wisconsin Ward and as Director of Genealogy research and training for the Memphis Tennessee Stake.
Marilyn learned how to use a computer by playing computer games on her home computer while living in a Chicago suburb, a skill that helped her very much when it came to finding employment and doing family history research.
Marilyn and her husband of 59 years went on two LDS Church Missions at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City where they trained library guests how to use the computers and find their ancestors. They also assisted patrons for four years in the Manti Temple. Marilyn has a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and of the truthfulness of the restored gospel in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Marilyn studied nursing and became a registered x-ray technician at the Provo Hospital. She then worked as an x-ray technician at the Provo Hospital and at the American Fork Hospital in Utah. Four of her children were born at the American Fork Hospital.
Marilyn has six children, 21 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Marilyn has moved many times with her husband a photographer and Technical Salesman for Eastman Kodak Company. They have lived in several states in the United States. Her last child was born in Rochester New York while her husband was in training at Eastman Kodak Company. The other children were born in Utah and Montana.
She enjoys visiting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marilyn grows a large garden of vegetables and fruit. She cans and stores the garden produce. She celebrated her birthday with a family dinner at Red Lobster.
