Jess Ray Bateman, 90, passed away on April 25, 2017 in Washington, Utah. Jess was born June 13, 1926 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Jess Oscar and Elle MacPhail Bateman.
Jess was raised in Oklahoma and Texas. He and his family moved to southern California when he was 15 years old. He married Geraldine Norton in California in 1943. They had three daughters Judy, Diana and Connie.
Jess was married to Betty Jensen Johnson (from Ferron, Utah) on Sept. 6, 1980. Betty has four children Paul, Vickie, Connie and Lane. They lived in southern California until April 2014, when they moved to Washington, Utah. They have seven children, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
Jess is survived by his wife Betty and their children Judy McHale (David), Diana Cramer (Robert), Connie Bateman and Connie Johnson. Preceded in death by children Paul Johnson, Vickie Johnson and Lane Johnson.
Graveside services will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Ferron City Cemetery. Followed by lunch at the Ferron Senior Center.
