Timpanogos Story Telling Festival
Utah’s Biggest Liar Competition
Storytellers have a special gift no matter what the age, but youth storytellers are extra special.
This year around 100 youth storytellers ages 6-12 auditioned for 20 spots to perform at Timpanogos Story Telling Festival Sept. 7-9 at Thanksgiving Point. Of the 100 contestants seven were later chosen to perform exclusively in front of a live audience of over 100 people at Orem Library on March 29 for 2017 Utah’s Biggest Liar Contest. After an hour of adorable and hilarious stories from all the contestants Emery County’s Champ Justice, son of Michael and Tiffanie Justice of Huntington, was named “Utah’s Biggest Liar 2017”. Champs story “Our Trip to Neptune”, which is a story written and performed by Champ, is about him and his younger brother Jory’s Saturday adventure building a spaceship and traveling through space to Neptune. Champ is eight years old and has a given gift of being a natural born actor and storyteller. He loves to perform and has a big voice. Champ will now perform at the Festival on Sept. 9 at 1:30 p.m. during the Liars Hour at Thanksgiving Point Gardens.
