777 ranch Cowboy poetry night

The Three Sevens Ranch held a special cowboy poetry program July 6, in front of the grandstand of the arena at this year’s Stock Show at Ferron. The Three Sevens ranch is located about three miles south and east of Ferron. At this ranch they have horsemanship programs for people ages 12 and up. One of these programs is a weeklong dude ranch experience and horsemanship clinic wrapped up as one in a small group setting on a working ranch. The ranch had a booth display of some of their activities and beside the 777 Ranch display booth was a table with compact discs of music from the entertainers.
This show was sponsored by several Emery County merchants. The Three Sevens ranch was the host and a cosponsor. Other sponsors are J & D Automotive, Johnson Diesel Service, San Rafael Works, San Rafael Bed-and-Breakfast, TC West, Magnuson Lumber, and Castle Valley Supply. Voluntary donations were requested for the Ranch programs.
Rick Benson the owner of the Three Sevens Ranch introduced the country-western entertainment for the evening. Telling the audience the program featured Jeff Gore, Jean and Gary Prescott all well-known country-western singers from near Abilene, Texas. Rick also introduced Ron Eman from Tooele, as a cowboy poet.
Jeff Gore the leading singing guitar player said this evenings program was for the 4H and children with special needs. He started off playing his guitar and singing, “Walking Across the Holy Land with Grandpa the Disciples and Me.” “I Can’t Give up this Life of Cowboy Living, Heaven Knows That I Have Tried.” “ I’d Like to be in Texas for the Round Up in the Spring.” “The Brisco County Cowboy.” “Darling Remember That Your Cowboy Loves You.”
Ron Ehman the cowboy poet recited some poetry and his first was by Baxter Black,” “The Coyote”, and a poem by Ed Brown titled the “Cow Dog.” “AARP The animal accident recovery patrol.”
Jean Prescott a well-known country-western singer and a national award winner entertained and delighted the audience with her singing, yodeling and guitar playing. Her first song was “He’s Courting Annie.” Followed with “She’s in Love with Roy Rogers,”  “My Sweet Irish Rose.” She told the story about the life of a cowboy’s wife.
Gary Prescott a singer and songwriter joined Jean Prescott in singing several songs with yodeling. Such as the “West Texas Range.” Gary Prescott sang about Texas cowboys, ropes, horses, outlaws and Texas cattle.
The final song for the evening was “How Great Thou Art,” led by Jeff Gore, Rick Benson, Ron Ehman, Gary and Jean Prescott accompanied by a singing standing audience.
