The Cowboy Memorial Rodeo rode into town on Friday and Saturday nights July 28-29. Cowboys and cowgirls from around the country visited Castle Dale for prime rodeo action. The Emery High Rodeo club put on the rodeo as a fundraising event for their club. They did all the planning and preparation for the event. Monroe Magnuson was the announcer. Riata Christiansen, Utah State Rodeo Queen was on hand to bring in the American flag. Miss Emery Collette McElprang and her royalty attended the rodeo. The EMTs, search and rescue and Emery County Sheriff’s Office were honored at the event.
