Huntington, Utah/Concord, Calif. – Richard Lee Thayn, age 64, died from cancer on Aug. 2, 2017 at his brother Gary’s home in Huntington.
He was born Dec. 12, 1952 in North Sacramento, Calif. to Gary Joe and LaRita Thayn. Rick was the second oldest of six with one older sister, two younger brothers and two younger sisters.
He honorably served his country in the Army, in Vietnam and Korea, and was discharged in 1974. He was a truck driver, like his father, brother, sister and sister-in-law. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his friends and family and playing pool at the Clayton Club. He was very loving and took care of his mother and sister until they passed away. He loved his neighbors and always had something special for the kids (donuts, balloons or toys).
Survived by his wife Deborah, son Ricky, daughter Carrie, his father, the rest of his loving family and his Harley. Preceded in death by his grandparents, mother (LaRita), and oldest sister (Linda).
No memorial service will be held as his wishes were to have his ashes spread with his sister’s. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are welcome to share memories at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
