The American Legion freedom riders helped Green River City dedicate their new veteran’s memorial. The memorial is at the John Wesley Powell River History museum.
The American Legion helped fundraise for the new monument. Green River City formed a committee that helped the monument become a reality.
There were patriotic songs and a flag ceremony at the event. More than 300 riders attended the ceremony then headed to the park for lunch. They were scheduled to help dedicate a monument in Richfield later in the day. They are on their way to the American Legion convention in Reno.
