Kathy Jensen

1950 – 2017
Price, Utah-Kathryn (Kathy) Brown Jensen, 67, passed away Aug. 16, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Price, Utah on April 3, 1950 to Lenard and LaRee Brown. She grew up in Orangeville and graduated from Emery High School. She married the love of her life, Willis (Bill) Jensen, in Orangeville on Dec. 21, 1968.
Kathy loved traveling and the outdoors, and she and Bill especially enjoyed camping and fishing. Kathy could catch fish when no one else was getting a bite. They enjoyed traveling, and she and Bill especially enjoyed their trips to Mesquite and Las Vegas in the last few years.
Kathy’s love of music was a joy to anyone in her home. Her extensive collection of LPs was in constant use as the sounds Jim Croce, Sly and the Family Stone, the Beach Boys, Frankie Valli and a variety of other musicians filled her house. She and Bill joined friends Jay and Lorraine Frandsen in the band they called Stillwater. The four of them traveled around the state every weekend for years playing at different events.
From 1978, Kathy worked for the Emery County Sheriff’s Office as an executive secretary where her unequaled professional skills combined with her sense of humor and friendly manner made her an office favorite.
Kathy and Bill spent hours in their kitchen experimenting and preparing gourmet meals that they loved to share with family and friends. Her two favorite customers were her grandchildren, Holly and Hadan. While the two were in high school, Kathy made sure that an epicurean lunch at her house was ready and waiting for them and all of their friends. She loved doing this for them. Holly and Hadan were the pride of her life, and Kathy enjoyed sharing all of their accomplishments with friends and family.
We will miss so many things about Kathy, but we will especially miss her wicked sense of humor and her ability to make you feel like she loved you more than anyone else in the room.
Survived by her mother, LaRee, her loving husband Bill, and daughter Joel (Blaine), grandchildren Holly and Hadan, three sisters, and two brothers. Preceded in death by her father, Lenard and two sisters, Barbara and Carolyn and son-in-law Jordan W Hatch.
Funeral services will be held on Aug. 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Church on Main Street in Orangeville. A visitation will be held on Aug. 18, 2017 at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale from 6-8 p.m. Interment in the Orangeville City Cemetery. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook and share a memory of Kathy at www.fausettmortuary.com.
