Karen Wilson the grandmother of Shelby Williams hosted a going away and a birthday party luncheon at the Castle Dale Senior Citizen Center for Shelby Williams.
This was in preparation for Shelby’s reporting to the U.S. Navy as a raw recruit at the Chicago Naval Station. There Shelby will receive six months of Navy training. When her training is finalized it is believed she will be posted to a Naval Station in Florida.
This family luncheon also recognized Shelby’s upcoming birthday on Sept. 9 when Shelby will be 18 years of age.
Many family and friends came to Shelby’s luncheon. Shelby’s father and his family along with her sister Sierra and several cousins were on hand to participate in this going away to the Navy and birthday party.
Those present wished Shelby happiness and success in her new adventure with the U.S. Navy.
