Fundraiser for Tyler Miera

On April 21,2017 our lives were changed forever.
That was the day that my oldest child, Tyler was diagnosed with stage five kidney failure and congestive heart failure.
In order to stay alive Tyler needs dialysis three days a week for four hours at a time. These treatments are extremely expensive and hard on him physically. He is only 22 years old so having to spend this much time in a medical facility receiving dialysis is also emotionally difficult for him. Our ultimate goal is to have a kidney transplant.
But until just recently the hope for a transplant was just that…A Hope. Because of the damage to his heart his body was not strong enough to survive a transplant. So he has been working hard with both his cardiology team and a physical therapist to regain some of his heart function.
On Oct. 13, 2017, we got the news we had been waiting for that his heart was strong enough for a transplant.
The average cost of a kidney transplant is over $400,000. So raising money will be our only hope of affording this procedure that will give Tyler the chance to live a normal life again.
We are so blessed to have such loving people in our lives who have already given so much to help us get this far. Your prayers, gifts, cards and money have meant more to us than you will ever know.

The medical cost of dialysis and the transplant are extremely expensive so to raise money to cover the costs Ferron PTO has organized two fundraisers.
The Ferron PTO is collecting items to be sold in a silent auction at the school Halloween Carnival that will be held on October 27th from 6-8pm.
The donations for the auction can be dropped off at the Ferron Elementary office until Oct 26.
