Last week the Emery High swim teams hosted Richfield High School in a dual meet. The Spartan boys dominated the Wildcats by the score of 308 to 276 but the real domination came in the fact that Emery won every single event. Deegan Minchey and Keldan Guymon each won two individual events plus they each swam on two winning relay teams. Asher Beagley, Jonathan Seeley and Allen Durrant each won one event and swam on two winning relay teams while Parker Stilson won the other individual event and swam on one relay team.
The Emery High Lady Spartan swim team lost for the first time this season as the Lady Wildcats won by the score of 415 to 401. Emery kept the score close despite only winning three races during the meet. Kaelee Hooley and Haley Guymon were the individual winners and a Spartan relay team won the final event of the day for the girls.
Hooley won the 50-yard free and Guymon won the 100-yard breaststroke. The 400-yard freestyle relay team consisting of Hooley, Sydney Terwilleger, Raquelle Simmons and BriAnne Bass were the other winners on the afternoon.
Minchey won the 50-yard freestyle race and the 100-yard fly while Guymon won the 500-yard free and the 100-yard breaststroke. Beagley won the 200-yard free, Seeley won the 200-yard Individual Medley, Durrant won the 100-yard free and Stilson won the 100-yard backstroke. The 200-yard winning medley relay team consisted of Minchey, Guymon, Beagley and Durrant. The 200-yard free relay team consisted of Seeley, Durrant, Stilson and Guymon. The 400-yard free relay team consisted of Beagley, Seeley, Minchey and Gage Jensen.
The Emery boys won the 2-A title last year and should be a factor this year but the team is swimming in the 3-A class this season. The Emery girls finished second at state in the 2-A ranks behind Grand High but also look to do well at the final meet of the season.
