Emery Swim does well at home meet: boys first

Last Wednesday the Emery High swim teams hosted Uintah High, Gunnison Valley High and North Sanpete High in a meet at Emery County Aquatic Center in Castle Dale. The Emery boys’ won three events and the meet by outscoring Uintah 337 to 290 with Gunnison at 192 and North Sanpete at 105.  The Emery girls finished second to Uintah 414 to 378, a really close finish considering that Uintah won twelve events to just one for the Lady Spartans.  Both Emery teams have lots of depth as they score points several times in each event.
The relay team of Keldan Guymon, Allen Durrant, Parker Stilson and Deegan Minchey won the 200-yard freestyle relay race while Minchey won the 200-yard freestyle race and Guymon won the 100-yard backstroke.
 BriAnne Bass was the lone Lady Spartan victor as she won the 200-yard freestyle.
Other top four finishes by the Emery boys were the 200-yard medley relay team of Minchey, Guymon, Stilson and Durrant with a second-place finish and the 400-yard free relay team of Gage Jensen, Eli Beagley, Levi Olsen and Malone Moss with a second-place finish. In individual events, Stilson and Malone finished second and third in the 200-yard IM, Durrant finished fourth in the 50-yard free, Malone and Durrant finished third and fourth in the 100-yard fly, Beagley was second in the 100-yard free, Guymon and Jensen were second and fourth in the 500-yard free and Minchey was second in the 100-yard breaststroke.
For the girls’ team, the relay team of Alexis Johansen, Haley Guymon, Kaelee Hooley and Bass finished second in the 200-yard medley.
The team of Johansen, Angelina Migliori, Bass and Hooley finished second in the 200-yard free and the team of Abigail Olsen, Migliori, Raquelle Simmons and Jenny Funk finished second in the 400-yard free relay.
 Individual top four girl finishers were Migliori and Sydney Terwilleger second and fourth in the 200-yard free, Johansen second in the 200-yard IM, Hooley, Guymon and Alejandra Garcia second through fourth in the 50-yard free.
Bass and Guymon were second and third in the 100-yard fly, Simmons and Funk were third and fourth in the 100-yard free, Hooley and Terwilleger were second and fourth in the 500-yard free.
 Olsen was fourth in the 100-yard backstroke and Johansen and Harmony Willson were second and fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke.
