A fire started in a Huntington home last night around 2:30 a.m. Calls came into the Emery County dispatch that a home was engulfed in flames.
Deputies and fire crews responded. The occupants of the home were able to escape the fire.
Flames threatened an adjacent home. Those homeowners used a garden hose to keep the side of their home cooled down.
Fire crews were on scene for several hours dousing the flames and putting out hot spots. A power pole at the home was sparking and power was cut to the line to avoid an electrical fire as flames heated up the power lines in the area.
The house appears to be a total loss and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
