The Emery County Sheriff’s Office along with AP and P officers, Utah Highway Patrol held a training today at Emery High.
The scenario involved four active shooters. Carbon County officers were in attendance to observe the exercise so they can implement more training into their schools.
Deputy Shaun Bell has a peace officers class at the high school. His students helped format the scenarios and were involved in the role playing. The students had mock injuries.
The Emery County EMTs and fire departments responded to the scene. Emery Medical Center took the mock victims to the clinic in Castle Dale.
Capt. Kyle Ekker was the incident commander and Sheriff Greg Funk oversaw the exercise.
