Last Saturday the Emery High track teams traveled north to the city and participated in a track meet with nine much larger schools. Going against Herriman, Bingham, Copper Hills, Jordan, Alta, Clearfield, Juan Diego, Taylorsville and Brighton the Emery boys finished fifth and the Emery girls finished seventh.
Braiden Ivie led the boys’ team with two first place finishes, first in the 100 meters and then in the 200 meters. Treven Brazier placed in three different events. He was fourth in the 110-meter-high hurdles and then we was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. He placed fifth in the high jump. Marquis Giroux was fifth in the discus and Bryar Meccariello was seventh in the 800 meters.
For the Lady Spartans Tiana Jensen finished third in the 100-meter hurdles and Bethany Justice finished third in the 400-meter race. Justice was also sixth in the 100 meters. Elexis Dalton was sixth in the discus, JoJo Peterson was seventh in the javelin and Shyler Griffin was eighth in the javelin.
