Drill at Emery High focuses on the dangers of drinking and driving and distracted driving
The Emery County Sheriff’s Office put together the Every 15 minutes drill for the students of Emery High.
A mock crash scene was set-up and there were many simulated injuries in both of the cars. The driver of the vehicle which t-boned the other vehicle was impaired.
The EMTs and local firemen, highway patrol, ambulance crews and the LifeFlight helicopter from Moab came to the drill.
After the accident scene event, later in the day there was an assembly where a mock trial was held with help from Mark Tanner, Judge Steven Stream, Deputy County Attorney Brent Langston and the highway patrolman testified about what happened at the accident scene.
Guest speakers were Mr. Thompson and Troy and Kresta Winter.
The Winters lost their son Ethan in an automobile accident in November of 2016.
Principal Steven Gordon asked the students to think about their actions and how they can impact others.
