Things weren’t looking good for the Junior Varsity team from Emery tonight at Cheddar field. They were down 2-9 in the fifth inning.
But then the bats came alive and the Spartans came up with 5 runs to take the score to 7-9; Grand added a run to make the score 7-10. In the sixth inning the Spartans added one run to bring the score to 8-10. They held Grand County scoreless in the seventh inning.
With one last at bat, things were looking bleak when the Spartans first two batters got out. A walked batter scored on a past ball and then a triple by Jace Collard brought the score to 9-10. Collard scored to tie things up. The Spartans were still living with that one out and Brax Jensen at bat hit a ball into right field which was dropped and scored the runner on third to get the win.
Spartans 11 runs and Grand County Red Devils at 10 runs. This was a double header with the sophomore/freshmen team playing the second game.
