Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk said they have had several calls coming into dispatch about the smoke visible from the valley. The smoke is coming from the controlled burn on Trail Mountain. Sheriff Funk said there is no need to call the sheriff’s office. They will send out a telephone message regarding the burn.
Sheriff Funk is going to drive to the area of the fire to check on it and will report back if there is any cause for concern due to the burn.
This is a controlled burn by the Forest Service to burn out old growth.
