Mar Ulysses Grange

Mar Ulysses Grange graduated from this life to the next on June 9, 2018 in Price, Utah at the age of 91 with three generations of his loving family at his side. Mar entered this life on Jan. 13, 1927 in Huntington, Utah to Elisha Myron and Rena Nielson Grange.
Mar grew up in Mohrland and Huntington, Utah. He graduated from North Emery High School, College of Eastern Utah and Brigham Young University. He married Uneta Guymon in Manti, Utah on Nov. 22, 1950, later divorced. He married Bonnie Rich Wood on Aug. 1, 2008 in Price, Utah.
Mar was a lifelong educator. His most important students were his children. He taught school in the Emery County School District and was Principal at Huntington Elementary School, Emery County High School, and was a School District Supervisor. He also worked for the Huntington-Cleveland Irrigation Company.
He was diligent in his service to his Country and in his Church. He served in World War II and also as a Huntington City Councilman. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in many capacities including Stake Clerk, Bishop, High Councilman, Scoutmaster/youth leader, teacher, Temple Worker in the Manti Temple with Uneta. and as a missionary at Cove Fort with Bonnie.
His passions and interests included woodworking, hunting for rocks or deer, exploring on his ATV, lapidary, jewelry making, farming, gardening, fishing, playing cards and parlor games with family and friends, dancing, reading, and teaching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was happy, naturally curious, loved to learn new things and explore new places. There were always new places to find and he always tried to leave things better than he found them. His favorite place was the San Rafael Swell with all its canyons, trails, and vistas. He loved his time in Quartzsite, Ariz. with Bonnie doing all the things that snowbirds do.
Mar is survived by his loving children; Marsha (Dennis) Fuhriman, Dale (Alexandra) Grange, Geneva (Tom) Crookston, Earl (Beverly) Grange, Colleen (Mike-deceased) Loveless, David (Tammy) Grange, Dean Grange, Stuart (Kimberly) Grange. Sister Verna (Vern-deceased) Evertsen, Brother Scott (Phyllis) Grange. Step children Charlene (Brent) Hanson, Bob Gene (Terry) Wood, and Gaylene Preston, 31 Grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bonnie, brother Pete Grange, and sister Lylas Kofford.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am June 15, 2018 in the Huntington LDS Stake Center located at 240 N. Main Street, Huntington, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held 6 to 8 p.m. June 14, and also 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Huntington Stake Center prior to the funeral. Arrangements entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home in Huntington (heritagefuneralhomeutah.com). In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged for the Drone Grange Rich Scholarship Fund benefiting the Lighthouse Learning Center in Price, Utah. Mar touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew him and appreciated his sense of humor. His family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to everyone who has helped at this difficult time.
