A fire broke out in a mobile home in Orangeville shortly before 3 p.m. today.
According to a teenager inside the home at the time the fire broke out she says flames were coming from the back door of the home. She said she thinks the fire started at the back of the trailer on the power pole, possibly in a breaker box. This has not been confirmed and the fire is under investigation.
She at that time screamed and the other individuals in the home including her grandma, brother and a friend all escaped without injury. The animals in the home were also rescued including dogs, cats, birds and a lizard.
The outside of the mobile home appears to be a total loss. Orangeville Fire Chief Tracy Addley was on hand at the fire. The extent of the loss of the items in the home isn’t known at this time.
Fire crews from Orangeville and Castle Dale responded to the fire which was extinguished quickly. The fire crews continued to spray to alleviate any hot spots. The mobile home was in close proximity to another home behind it.
There were no injuries in the fire.
