Danny Price

Wellington – Daniel James Price, age 97, died Aug. 10, 2018 in Elmo, Utah. He was born in Clawson, Utah on Dec. 12, 1920 to William H. and Lydia Metcalf Price. He married Maxine Jorgensen in Castle Dale on Christmas Eve 1941. Later solemnized in the Manti Temple on Dec. 9, 1961. Born in Clawson in a log cabin on the family ranch east of Clawson, where he grew up. He was the youngest son in a family of six boys and four girls.
Dad had a very adventurous and happy youth. A lot of time was spent riding horses down on the San Rafael which was the family playground. He enjoyed the farm life and his responsibilities. They raised pigs, sheep, goats, and watermelons. He graduated from High School and immediately joined the CCC’s. It was during this time that he met and married Mom. He enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and was assigned to the Merchant Marine. He was in the battle of Iwo Jima. After returning from the war, Dad worked for WW Clyde following construction and seeing a lot of beautiful country. He then came back to Utah and eventually went to work for Knight Ideal Coal Co. Later he went to work for Plateau Mining until he retired.
He developed the love of beekeeping from his father. In the fall, you would find him in his beehouse where he eventually turned his hobby into a business. He sold his honey to many people in Carbon County and throughout Utah.
Mom and Dad liked to travel, especially with their trailer. They loved to spend their summers camping at the ranch in Clawson.
Dad loved and adored children, especially his nine grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, with another Great Grandchild expected in January. He was looking forward to becoming a great great Grandpa that same month.
Survived by daughter, Diane (Jimmy) Henrie, Wellington, Utah, son, JD (Sherry) Price, Enoch, Utah, sister, Dora Fautin, Pleasant Grove, Utah.
Preceded in death by parents, spouse (Maxine), sisters, Harriet Lunceford, Mary Jewkes, Juanita Madsen, and brothers, Willis, Victor, Fame, Owen, and Allen Price. Great Grandchildren, Joseph Price, and Abbigail Bott.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018 at 11 a.m., Wellington Stake Center 935 East Main. Viewing one hour prior to service. Interment Emery, Utah. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Friends and family may sign the guest book and share memories at www.fausettmortuary.com.
