The Pioneer museum is back in business. The museum was located across the street upstairs in the former Castle Dale City Hall building. The condition of the building with leaking and other problems led to the Pioneer Museum being closed for the past two years.
The items have been in storage.
A grand reopening and ribbon cutting was held at the Museum of the San Rafael to re-open the Pioneer Musuem.
Items have been set-up on display in the former activity room at the Museum of the San Rafael. There are many items there donated by local people from Emery County and surrounding areas. The pioneer items belonged to their ancestors from the region. There are displays of a school room, store, pioneer home and many other items.
The museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and closed on Sundays. The museum staff welcomes everyone to come back into the museum to visit the displays.
