HELPER – Margaret Rizzuto Marrelli, age 82, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018. 

Margaret was born Oct. 30, 1935 in Price, Utah to Jim and Edna Bergener Rizzuto.  Married Frank Marrelli on April 23, 1955 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Helper, Utah. 

Margaret worked alongside her husband to operate a successful Lumber and Hardware Store until she retired in January of 2007.  Margaret enjoyed a very full life.  Her accomplishments include initiating and directing the Helper Light Parade for its first 11 years, and was instrumental in having Helper named Utah’s Christmas Town.  She also held various positions on the Helper Projects Committee and was a member of the Festival of Trees Committee for Primary Children’s Hospital.  She was awarded Carbon County Woman of the Year for her many civic contributions. Over the course of her life, she was also involved with the Soroptomist Club, Past President and member of Price Ladies of Elks, an active league bowler since 1961 and State Champion in 2003, Chairman of her High School Reunion Committee for Class of 1953, and a member of the Helper Dinner/Dance Club.  Over the course of her life, she was an avid gardener, loved to travel and always made time to stay connected with her younger brother, Jim.

She is survived by her husband, Frank, her children, Frank J. (Linda), Linda (Darrell), Bob (Melody), Don (Micha) and Ron; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a community of friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by parents, brother, Jim and grandson DJ Marrelli

The viewing will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Funeral service, Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, 11 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service.  Interment, Mountain View Cemetery in Helper.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Primary Children’s Hospital or St. Anthony Catholic Church.
