Dog License Deadline


Cleveland residents are required to license their dogs by Feb. 28. All dogs must have proof of current rabies shots to be licensed. Persons failing to do so are subject to a $15 fine in addition to regular fees. This late fee will be enforced as of March 1.

Orangeville Calendars


Orangeville City Calendars are now available. There is also an insert for those who purchased the calendar before Jan. 15. It is a small correction for the month of August. You can pick up the insert at the city hall.

Huntington Dog Licenses


Huntington 2002 dog licenses are now due. Purchase licenses at city hall You will need proof of your pet’s current rabies vaccination. Call 687-2436 for more information.

American Legion Contest


The American Legion Oratorical Contest will be held in February in Salt Lake City. The contest begins at the local level and is for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Ask your school counselor or contact a member of your local American Legion Post or call Naomi Fletcher at 801-567-1102. Many scholarships are given and prizes at local level also.

MS Volunteers Needed


Do you or someone you care about have an interest in attending a self help group but there isn’t one? Help yourself/help others to personal knowledge and understanding of Multiple Sclerosis by volunteering to start an MS group in our area. Interested? Locals Exhibit Art


Gallery East at the College of Eastern Utah presents local renowned artists, Thomas Elmo Williams and David Richey Johnsen, featuring works of local interest and places, which will run through Jan. 31. Lincoln Day Dinner


The Lincoln Day Dinner hosted by the Republican party of Emery County will be held on Feb. 9, at 6 p.m. at the Ferron Senior Citizen Center. LDS Adult Activity


A dinner and program at the Castle Dale Stake Center will be held on Feb. 9, at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker is Mamie Hjorth, who will do a presentation on Emma Smith. There will be an affordable charge for the dinner.

New Exhibit Coming


The Museum of the San Rafael will be featuring a new Cultural Olympiad exhibit “Artists of the American West,” from Feb. 7 – March 9. Valentine’s Day Carnival

Dog Licenses Due


Orangeville dog licenses are due by Feb. 28. A rabies clinic will be held at the city fire station Feb. 23 from 9 a.m.-Noon. Citations will be issued on March 1, with additional fees assessed for late licensing.

Castle Dale LDS Stake


Castle Dale 1st and 2nd Wards meet at 11 a.m. and 9 a.m., respectively, in the Stake Center on Main Street. Orangeville 1st and 2nd Wards also meet at 11 a.m. and 9 am, respectively, on Main Street. Orangeville 3rd and Castle Dale 3rd Wards meet in the building on 8th North in Castle Dale, at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively. In all cases, Sacrament Meeting is first, followed by Primary, Youth and Adult classes.

Independent Baptist


The Castle Dale Independent Baptist Church holds services each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for Sunday School and at 11 a.m. for Worship Service. First Baptist Church of Emery County


The First Baptist Church of Emery County is located in Ferron, just West of the Grub Box. Sunday Services include Sunday School at 10 a.m., Worship Service at 11 a.m., and Evening Worship at 6 p.m. Each Wednesday is Prayer Meeting at 7 p.m. (except the first Wed. of the month when services are held at the Emery County Care Center at 6:30 p.m.).
