Charlotte Young started to teach dance when she was 15- years-old. She has taught in Ferron, Castle Dale, Orangeville, Huntington, Green River, Payson and Price. She opened the Charlotte Young Dance Studio in Price in 1964.
Young received her basic dance training at a private dance studio. Her ballet training was acquired from the Royal Academy of Dance in Salt Lake City. She continued to use their syllabus in her studio. She also attended classes at the University of Utah. She and her dance students attended many dance workshops and competitions. They were held in Salt Lake City, Bountiful, Provo, Denver, Colo., Las Vegas, Nev., and Los Angeles, Calif.
Charlotte always wanted to keep up with the latest styles in dance and felt that teachers should always continue their education. She attended her last workshop in Las Vegas in July of this year.
She was an active member of the National Association of Dance and Affiliated Artists for 25 years. Charlotte was very particular about technique and always strived for excellence with her students, they knew that not working hard and wasting their time in class was not an option.
Another principle she tried to teach her students was the importance of being prepared. She always told them that being unprepared makes everything miserable and frightening, but being prepared makes every experience in life enjoyable and fun. It was evident that her students understood these principles while watching them perform. They students were always well prepared and you could see that they felt pride in their accomplishments.

She has sent all of these young dancers out into the world to share this beauty. They will share it with their daughters, their spouses, their family, their friends, their employees, and even strangers on the street. While we will all miss her, she will always be in the forefront because she shines in each and every one of her dancers!”
