Dear Editor:
It is an outrage to me that the general population believes that drug addicts have no place here except prison. How tragic for mothers and children who lose a child or parent to drugs. As a successful, single mother of two I never thought I would be an addict. A journey I thought I would never take, but I did.
I hear stories of families who give up and it makes me so sad and even angry, how do they give up on someone they love? I have a brother who refused to give up on me. He searched for weeks to find a rehab that would work and finally found it. His diligence saved my life. He is my hero. Without him I would have surely ended up in prison or dead.
Rehabilitation works. Because of what happened to me he now helps others who refuse to give up. You can call him at 866-648-7609. He helps moms and dads and their children and even little sisters everywhere and he does it for free because he likes being my hero. He says I am his angel. Imagine that, an addict turned angel. Of course anything is possible….if you don’t give up.

One would think that after too many robberies being photographed and so many unrecognizable photos taken during those robberies, owners of these establishments would smarten up and relocate their cameras to shoot straight on and not down from the ceilings. Smart robbers never look up.
They should also install camera decoys hidden at seven feet high on walls inside at the exit doors, photographing those that are exiting the business. It is here where they will get a clearer photograph of the thief exiting the business.
If they are going to the expense of installing a photo camera, they should add a few more dollars and buy a camera that is auto-telephoto for close up exposure.

The Creator of the universe, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, The Prince of Peace, Jesus came to our planet to reconcile mankind to himself and give us life more abundantly. Immediately the local government killed every child recently born in the same city in an attempt to murder him, but Jesus still lived.
When Jesus declared he was the Messiah promised by thousands of years of prophecy, his own people took up stones to kill him and sought from that hour how they might kill him, but Jesus still lived.
Jesus raised the dead, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind and gave the perfect law for mankind to live in peace and still his own people handed him over to the government and demanded that he be crucified, but Jesus still lived.
Jesus’ church is full of sinners. Some betray him and others deny him, yet his church produces great saints and as promised spreads like a fire and why? Because Jesus still lives.
Modern humans do everything they can to eliminate him from public life. We make it embarrassing or illegal to pray to him or even mention his name. When his birthday comes we teach our children to “look for the coming of Santa. Santa is the one who knows if you’re good or bad. Santa is the one who gives us gifts if we are good.” We think it is harmless fun to center our children’s faith on a lie and obscure the most awesome truth ever to come to mankind, Jesus lives…

In early November, an editorial calling for Donald Rumsfeld to be replaced as secretary of defense, showed up simultaneously in the Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times, and Marine Corps Times. Distributed to members of the U.S. armed forces throughout the world, these publications stated that President Bush must “face the hard bruising truth [that] Rumsfeld has lost credibility with the uniformed leadership, with the troops, with Congress, and with the public at large.”
Only days earlier, Pres. Bush stated that he wanted both Rumsfeld and Vice President Dick Cheney to remain in their posts for the remaining two years of his administration. As he spoke, more troops were being killed and wounded in a war that has degenerated into a civil conflict between Muslim factions competing for power.
Then, one day after the Republicans suffered what Pres. Bush himself called a “thumping” on Election Day, Rumsfeld’s resignation was announced. To replace him, Pres. Bush turned to Council on Foreign Relations veteran and former CIA Director Robert Gates, a move that does not bode well for the troops caught in a civil war between Islamic factions. Iraq is no place for American forces no matter who is secretary of defense.
