The Green River Gym project is nearing completion. The work has been underway all winter for the new facility. The new gym is being constructed at the Green River High School by the Emery County School District.
The current high school gym is the only gymnasium facility in the town. With the new gym the high school teams as well as community teams and the Junior Jazz will have a practice facility. The current Green River gym is used from early morning to late at night accommodating the community as well as the school teams during the basketball season. The contractor for the gym was Wade Payne Construction from Orem.
The building is scheduled to be complete by July 5. A prefinal inspection is scheduled for June 20 and the final inspection is tentatively set for June 27.
LeRoy Maxfield from the school district has been the project superintendant. Redd Mechanical has also worked on the building. Bleachers will be placed on one side of the gym and the gym has shower and locker facilities.
