No-till Drill Workshop and Dinner


A no-till drill workshop and dinner will be held Feb.13 from 4-8 p.m. at the Ferron City Fair grounds. A drill will be on display beginning at 4 p.m. Information on sunflower and oil seed production at 5 p.m. presented by Jeff Berman of San Juan Bioenergy. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. Dinner – $10.00 per person. Workshop from 6:30-8 p.m. Featured speaker will be Robert Newhall from Utah State University. Cleveland Rabies Clinic


Cleveland Town will sponsor a rabies clinic on Feb. 23 from 1:30-3 p.m. at the Cleveland Cemetery storage building located at 200 North 600 East in Cleveland. Dr. Griggs will be the veterinarian. All dogs must be licensed by March 1. Dog licenses are $5 for spayed and neutered, $15 if not. All dog owners are encouraged to take advantage of this clinic. There will be only one for Cleveland Town this year. Late fees will be assessed after March 1.

Nominations for Days of ’47


Nominations are being accepted for the person who most exemplifies the pioneer legacy of industry and integrity and whose work benefits present and future generations. The categories are as follows: business and enterprise; education, health and humanitarian assistance; historic and creative arts; sportsmanship and athletics; scientific and technology development; and a posthumous legacy award.

Emery County Republican Party


Lincoln Day Breakfast Feb. 16 will be held at the Castle Dale Museum Of The San Rafael at 8 a.m. Note this is a change from the Senior Citizens Center. Representatives from the Governors office, Attorney General, State Auditor, House District 2, Senate District and other candidates are expected to speak at this breakfast.

Emery County Recreation Special Service District Meeting


Notice is hereby given that the regularly sceduled meeting of the Emery County Recreation Special Service District has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond their control. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held March 10 at 6 p.m. at the Emery County Recreation Center, 75 South 400 East, Castle Dale.

Looking for Host Families


Academic Foundation for International Cultural Exchange is looking for host families in the local area to host a foreign exchange student. These young ambassadors are between 15 and 18 years of age and all speak English. Student’s profiles will start arriving for students from various countries. Financial Aid Night


Emery High School will be holding a financial aid night for seniors and their parents on Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

Emery Gun Club


Draw for team league: Purse paid out each week. Participants name will be put on a playing card and then the cards will be shuffled and squads will be drawn at random. Must be present at 7 p.m. for drawing of teams. Feb. 8 draw league at dark; Feb. 16 games at dark; Feb. 22 draw league at 7 p.m.; March 1 games at dark; March 7 draw league at 7 p.m.; March 15 games at dark; March 21 draw league at 7 p.m.; March 29 games at dark.

Orangeville City Dog Licenses


2008 dog licenses are now available at the Orangeville City Hall. Fees are $25 for a non-altered dog and $8 for a spayed/neutered dog. A rabies clinic will be held on Feb. 23 at the new fire station in Orangeville from 10 a.m.-12 noon.
