CLEVELAND – Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, Verncie Wells, age 92, passed away Jan.6, 2011 in Cleveland, Utah. She was born March 30, 1918 to Henry Eden and Annie Catherine Williams in Cleveland, Utah. She married Loren Morgan Wells on Sept. 30, 1939 in Cleveland, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on Sept. 26, 1940.
She was an active member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught in all of the auxiliary organizations and was a Relief Society President. She served as a temple missionary before being married. With her husband, she fulfilled several stake missions, a full-time mission to New York City and many years as an ordinance worker in the Manti Temple.
She is survived by her children: Larna (the late Fred) Jensen of Elmo, Dan M. (Annette) Wells of Cleveland, Catherine (Larry) Casutt of Cleveland, John H. (MaryAnn) Wells of North Salt Lake and James E (Debbie) Wells of Cleveland; 49 grandchildren; 95 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great- grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Allott (Lucille) Eden, Jack (Della) Eden, Randolph Eden and one sister: Elvertis (Sam-living) Bryson; son-in-law; grandson; and one granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 at 12 noon at the Cleveland Ward Chapel (380 West 40 North – Cleveland, Utah.) A viewing was held Monday, Jan. 10, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South – Price, Utah) and on Tuesday from 10 – 11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Cleveland Town Cemetery.
