Spardettes rock and roll as they dance their way to second in region

The Emery High Spardettes went to their region competition on Jan. 24 and came away with a second place finish. They performed in three categories including military, dance and character. All team members also participated in a drill down competition. The All-region awards were presented and Alyssa Mann from Emery was all-region. Rikelle Larsen was Academic All-region and on the All-state drill team. The team traveled to the Utah Valley University on Feb. 4 for the state competition.
Drill team members consist of: Haylie Cloward, Cassidy Curtis, Jessica Furner, Kelsey Gordon, Ashlee Guymon, Alexis Hall, Jessi Jennings, Rikelle Larsen, Cassidy Luke, Alyssa Mann, Makalie Morgan, Brittnee Murdoch, Lacey Murdoch, Brittany Payne, Madison Winn and Savannah Woolsey.
The drill team attends a number of competitions each year as they prepare for region and state. They attend a summer camp each year to learn new drills and techniques. The team begins their performing season with football, basketball and wrestling as they perform during all of the home sporting events at the school as well as traveling to state competitions to support the teams.
