PRICE – Vera Faye Bishop McArthur Johansen, 95, passed away Oct. 24, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan. 3, 1920 in Sunnyside, Utah to Ernest and Elizabeth Jensen Bishop. She graduated from North Emery High School in 1937. She married Claude G McArthur in Price, Utah, July 25, 1940. Together they had three children: Betty, Sandra and Claude Kim. Her husband Claude was killed in the Hiawatha Mine on Feb. 3, 1949.
She married Max D. Johansen on May 11, 1951. He had three children from a previous marriage: Paul, Kathryn and Nadine. They became a blended family. She was very active in the LDS Church holding many positions, including MIA President for over 20 years. She taught Primary and Jr. Sunday School, served in many callings in the Relief Society and was an active visiting teacher through October of this year. She retired from Sears Roebucks after 20 years of service.
She is survived by her daughters Betty (Wayne) Roosevelt; Kathryn (Ross), Riverton; Nadine (David), Mesquite; son-in-law, Val Larsen, Mendon; daughter-in-law Diana Johansen, Pleasant Grove; 18 grand children, 41 great grandchildren and 24 great great grandchildren. Also survived by brother Lamar (Merlin) and sister Colleen (Glen); numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her sons Kim and Paul; daughter Sandi; grandsons Jamie and Brandon; her parents; brother Keith; sisters Neva, Bonnie, Helen, Joan and Effie.

A special thanks to Dr. Glenn Etzel and his staff for their compassionate care for the past 30 plus years. Also to the staff at Parkdale for their special care in helping her to return to her home of 63 years.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 at 11 am with visitation at 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. at the North Carbon Stake Center, 449 North 100 East, Price, Utah. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 680 East 100 South, Price, Utah. Interment will be in the Cleveland Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary.
