Emery track teams participate at the Manti meet

In Manti, The Spartan boys track team scored 72 points and finished in fourth place behind Richfield, North Summit and Grand and ahead of 13 other schools.  The lady Spartans scored 30 points and finished tied for eighth with Gunnison Valley High and ahead of five other schools.  North Summit won the girls side with 141.5 points followed by Richfield, Juab and Manti.
Logan Cox scored 18 points for the boys as he finished second in the 400 meters and fourth in both the 100 meters and the 200 meters.  Braiden Ivie scored 14 points as he finished second in both the 100 meters and the 200 meters.  Daryl Guymon scored 11 points as he finished third in the 110 meter hurdles, sixth in the 300 meter hurdles and seventh in the javelin.  Chase Christiansen finished sixth in the 1600 meters and eighth in the 3200 meters.
Also, placing for the boys’ team were Ty Funk in sixth place in the 800 meters, Maison Faimalo in fifth place in the 110 meter hurdles and Ty Mecham in second place in the shot put.
For the girls, Tayden Nielson finished fourth in the 800 meters and Erin Hurst finished fourth in the 3200 meters.  Emalee Bott placed fourth in the shot put and Elexis Dalton place fifth in the shot put.  Makieya Bertuzzi was eighth in the javelin, McKenzie Cox was eighth in the discus and Brooke Jensen was eighth in the 800 meters. The girls 4×100 relay team finished sixth and the 4×400 relay team finished fourth.  Members of the first team were Jocee Funk, Jaylee
Brinkerhoff, Erin Hurst and Hailey Allred.  Members of the latter team were Belle Bowers, Funk, Brinn Beckstead and Shelbee Murdoch.
The Emery boys’ 4×400 relay team and the sprint medley relay team both finished seventh.  Members of the sprint relay team were Dalton Hinkins, Braiden Ivie, Jake Jensen and Griffin Livingston.  Members of the 4×400 team were Chase Christiansen, Ty Funk, McKay Meccariello and Keldan Guymon.
