Seven Emery county youth participated in the Panguitch Invitational Rodeo held July 19-21. The Panguitch Invitational is open to High school and Jr High cowboys and cowgirls, with contestants coming from Utah, Arizona, California, Idaho, New Mexico and Washington.
Will and Wyatt Magnuson roped together in the team roping, placing 3rd in the first go, 6th in the second go and 5th overall. In the calf roping, Will placed 6th in the first go, 10th in the second go and 9th overall. Wyatt placed 10th in the first go of calf roping.
In the breakaway roping, Shaylee Gilbert placed 4th in the first go, 3rd in the short go, and 6th overall. Shaylee and her younger brother Stace competed in the team roping. Also competing in the calf and team roping were Cole Magnuson, Bret Olsen and Dax Hall. Our Emery ropers all roped tough and represented our county well.
