Emery High band celebrates a year of music

The Emery High Band held its annual dinner banquet. Mr. Richard Nobbe is the band director at Emery High and has done an AMAZING job with the band students this year. There were over 100 people in attendance.
Nate Smith is this years retiring Band Senator on the Student Council. Carson Donaldson was chosen to be the 2018-2019 Band Senator.
Twenty Students lettered in band this year. To letter in band each student had to attend four out of the five home football games and 10 out of the 12 home basketball games.
Each student received a plaque with their name on it. The students who lettered are: Jeffery Boyer, Connor Cramer, Lance Chynoweth, Elexis Dalton, Kaydee Deto, Carson Donaldson, Cory Eden, Mya Funk, Adam Jackson, Draken Krompel, Emily Mesler, Zachary Neff, Ethan Olsen, Bradley Ostergaard, Peter Ouzts, Malaki Bernstein Rhodes, Nathan Rice, Nate Smith, Dani Jo Thatcher, and Madison Thomas.
Outstanding Band Students were also awarded. The Outstanding Band Students were voted on by their peers.
Each student received a trophy with their name on it. Outstanding Freshmen are: Bradley Ostergaard and Dani Jo Thatcher. Outstanding Sophomores are: Peter Ouztz and Madison Thomas. Outstanding Junior is Cory Eden. Outstanding Senior is Nate Smith.
The Director’s Awards went to Adam Jackson and Abigail Olsen
Elexis Dalton who was the 2017-2018 Drum Major was awarded the John Philip Sousa Award. This award is a nationally given award to outstanding seniors.
