Construction Advisory
Closure of US-6 at milepost 200 bridge. The Utah Department of Transportation will be closing US-6 two miles west of Tucker at the milepost 200 bridge on Aug. 5 from 10 p.m.-6 a.m. UDOT will be milling several inches of asphalt off the bridge. Motorists are encouraged to use the following detour routes during this closure:
1) Semi-trucks and westbound travelers on I-70 should stay on I-70 and take US-50 north to Scipio to access northbound I-15.
2) Semi-trucks and travelers southbound on I-15 should stay on I-15 and take US-50 south to Scipio and connect with I-70.
3) Commuters traveling north on US-6 out of Price should take US-191 east to Duchesne and then US-40 west to Heber.
4) Motorists traveling south on I-15 and needing to go to Price should take US-89 south at Thistle.
UDOT encourages motorists to watch electronic message boards and detour signs during the closure. Barriers and officers from the Utah Highway Patrol will be in place to direct motorists to detour routes along US-6.
Folk art Festival

Defensive Driving Classes Now Available
The Utah Safety Council is now offering a four-hour defensive driving course for individuals in the Price area on Aug. 9 at the Castleview Hospital Classroom located at 300 North Hospital Drive, from 8 a.m.-noon. Registration is $40 per person, or $10 for those age 55 and over that are only seeking a reduction in their insurance rate. Emery High Registration
Registration for the 2008-09 school year at Emery High School will be held as follows: Seniors: two dates have been set up for seniors. You need attend only one of the two. They are Aug. 7, and Aug. 11, from 9 a.m.-noon for last names beginning A-L and noon-3 p.m. for last names beginning M-Z. Seniors interested in either work study or internship programs must meet with the WBL coordinator, school counselor and parent on the day of registration. These programs are just for seniors who have completed 20 high school credits. Work study students need to secure a job prior to the beginning of first quarter. Seniors interested in registering for CEU-EdNet classes will need to meet with Dixie Fielder, counselor. These classes begin Aug. 18. Juniors: registration will be Aug. 12, from 9 a.m.-noon for last names beginning A-L and noon-3 p.m. for last names beginning M-Z. Sophomores: registration will be Aug. 13, from 9 a.m.-noon for last names beginning A-L and noon-3 p.m. for last names beginning M-Z. Registration fees: fees are $60 and must be paid at the time of registration. All other fees, including band, chorus, instrument rental, etc. must also be paid at the time of registration. However, sports participation fees will be due at the beginning of each sport and must be paid before a student-athlete is allowed to participate.
WWII Veterans

2008 Emery High Tennis

The Senior Wheels USA Program makes available Power Wheelchairs to Senior Citizens and the permanently disabled at no cost to the recipient, if they qualify.The Power Wheelchairs are provided to those who can no longer walk safely, nor self propel a manual wheelchair and who mee the additional guidelines of the program.
