HUNTINGTON – Janet Gay Leamaster, age 77, passed away Sept. 3, 2011 in Huntington, Utah. She was born Aug. 31, 1934 to Ted R. Nielson and Verna L. Leonard in Huntington, Utah. She married Del B. Leamaster on Nov. 13, 1954 in Huntington, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized on April 9, 2011 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Janet was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She sang with the women’s choir, served on the North Emery High School reunion committee and also on the Desertview Credit Union supervisory committee. She loved her dogs and also loved her life’s work as a floral designer.
She is survived by her husband, Del; four children: Joni L. (Steven) Miller of Mapleton, Utah, Kelly (Steve) Wilson of Huntington, Utah, Ronni (Tony) Torre of Huntington, Utah, and Cassie L. Brown of Las Vegas, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia Fessenden of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hal Nielson; and sister, Virginia Howard.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Huntington First Ward Chapel (240 North Main – Huntington, Utah.) A viewing was held Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 North Center – Castle Dale, Utah) and on Thursday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment was in the Huntington City Cemetery. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
