She was the 6th of 12 children in the family. Her family moved to Milford, then to Provo, Utah. Wanda was always busy at home and work. She worked many jobs including the drug store, her parent’s café in Provo, and as an operator for the telephone company. She met and married Thomas L “Mac” McGinnis on Aug. 8, 1945. They lived in Orem where she also worked as a seamstress. Wanda and Mac were thrilled to adopt a son Thomas Brian McGinnis. After Mac passed away she moved to Huntington where she worked at the “Johnson’s Clothing Store”. She met and later married William “Bill” Martin on Feb. 22, 1986. They were later sealed together in the Manti Temple on May 30, 1987 and together served missions in the Tennessee Nashville Mission, and the Salt Lake LDS Business College.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings throughout her life. Wanda excelled in sewing and crochet. She was always making a blanket or quilt for a family member or to be auctioned at the family reunions. Family was very important to Wanda and she loved the many extended family members she had. She also loved to play golf, go fishing, hunting and camping. She always looked forward to the “girl’s” trips she would take with her sisters.
She is survived by her son Thomas Brian (Susan) McGinnis of Milford, Utah, three grandchildren, three sisters, one brother and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband’s Mac McGinnis and Bill Martin, her parents, a grandson, two sisters and five brothers.
