Emery girls soccer readies for state

The Emery High girls’ soccer team concluded their region season last week with a pair of victories as they defeated North Sevier and Gunnison at home on the Spartan field.
Emery defeated the Wolves by the score of 4-1 as Chloe Sermon, Aubrey Justice, Morgan Hurdsman and Jennifer Funk all scored goals for the Lady Spartans.
Emery then defeated the Bulldogs by the score of 5-2 as Justice, Funk and Hurdsman all scored again along with Jocee Funk and Sophie Huntington.
Manti leads the region with an 8-0 record with Grand in second with a 5-3 record followed by Emery at 4-4, Gunnison at 3-5 and North Sevier at 0-8.
Emery will play the second ranked Waterford High team October 12 at Waterford in the first round of the state play-offs.
Waterford is located in Sandy. Come out and support the soccer team in the first round of the state playoffs.
