Norman Richard Seely, age 87, passed away on Oct. 20, 2016 at his home in Green River surrounded by those he loved. He was born Dec. 5, 1928 in Spring Canyon, Utah to Joseph and Florence Amelia Shiner Seely. Richard was a Field Engineer. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After his service he married Dixie Cottrell and they were sealed in the Manti Temple. After Dixie passed away he met and married his sweetheart Sharon Thompson on July 6, 2006. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and friend.
Richard is survived by his wife Sharon Seely of Green River; children Sheree Fox and her husband Robert Goldfarb of Winter Park, Fla., Lorraine Martin of Olathe, Colo., and David Seely and wife Kelli of Orangeville, Utah; six stepchildren; together they shared 10 children, 43 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Dixie Cottrell Seely, son Dan Richard Seely, parents, and six siblings.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 from 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the Green River LDS Church. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon. Interment will then follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Price City Cemetery with military honors given by the Price American Legion Post #3. Funeral services are entrusted to Fausett Mortuary.
