Deputy Paul Simmons presents a DARE shirt to each of the graduates. |
Fifth grade students at Huntington and Cleveland Elementary schools recently graduated from the 10 week DARE program. Deputy Paul Simmons was the instructor for the students. Students learned the dangers of drugs and violence through course study. Students were required to write an essay at the end of the program discussing the things they had learned. Three students from each class were selected to read their essays to the audience. The students were presented with certificates of graduation from their teachers.
Deputy Simmons gave each student a DARE shirt for their graduation. The students concluded their graduation with pizza and pop supplied by the DARE officer.
