Recently Emery High’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) chapter participated in the Utah State FBLA competition in Salt Lake City. Students competed against every FBLA chapter in the state. Over 1,100 students across the state competed. Congratulations go to the Emery High students that placed.
Allie Rogers placed ninth in business communications, Anthony Hales placed ninth in introduction to business and tenth in introduction to parliamentary procedures, and Michelle Johansen placed seventh in job interview and first place in future business leader. The future business leader test requires a written test and also a job interview including a resume, cover letter, and application. Johansen’s first place in this event won her a $250 cash award (the only event with a cash award) and qualifies her to participate in the National Competition that is to be held in Dallas, Texas in June.
