Pre-History and Heritage Tour
The Museum of the San Rafael and the Emery County Historical Society presents the Pre-History and Heritage tour. An exciting adventure to the Secret Garden. It will be held May 7 at 5 p.m. Meet at the Museum. There will be a chili and hot dog lunch, bring your own drinks, chairs, jackets and a potluck item. There will be some walking to the site. Immunization Month
April is Immunization month for Utah. The Southeastern Utah District Health Department encourages all children to receive immunizations. In conjunction with immunization month, they will be giving out gifts and prizes to all children who qualify and receive immunizations on May 5 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Immunize for healthy lives. Defensive Driving Class

Water Conservancy Classes
The Emery Water Conservancey District will host a four hour class on conserving water with landscape irrigation. This class will cover soils, sprinkler system uniformity, how to determine the correct settings for your system and scheduling. The class will offer three CEUs for landscape managers and will be taught by Joe Whittaker, water conservation coordinator for the Bureau of Reclamation. Girl Scout Reunion in Green River
Are you now, or were you ever a Girl Scout or leader? Come join the fun at our Girl Scout Reunion at the Green River Riding Stables May 2 and 3. On Friday at 5 pm campsites will be set up , followed by a Dutch oven dinner, music, skits, games and horseback riding, with lights out at 10 pm. Saturday events start at 8 am with breakfast, badge work,and a Dutch oven lunch at 11. Adult Softball
Registration for men and women adult softball league is now being held at the Emery County Recreation office. Deadline for sign-ups is May 10. An Ice Breaker tournament will be held on May16-17. Huntington Secondary Water
Even numbered houses and lots can water Monday and Thursday. Odd numbered houses and lots can water Tuesday and Friday. Churches,. schools, mobile home parks, cemetery and city parks can Wednesday and Saturday. No watering from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Absolutely no watering on Sunday. Using culinary water for outside use is prohibited.
Emery County Archives Wants Stories
The Emery County Archives is looking for your stories of service in the CCCs. To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the CCCs, the archives would like to assemble the stories of those either from this area who served or those who came here from other parts of the country. Honoring Moms and Dads in the Navy Log
The US Navy Memorial Foundation is encouraging sons and daughters to enroll their parents, who served in the sea services, in the Navy Log. Bio-tech Academy for Teens
Scheduled for July 14-18 on the Utah State campus, the academy is open to high school students entering the 11th and 12th grades in the 2003-04 school year. Participants work side-by-side with faculty mentors on a variety of hands-on projects, stay in campus housing and eat in campus dining halls during the five-day camp. Students may select a specific area of interest, choosing from fields such as biology, chemistry, food and nutrition sciences, biological and envoiromental engineering, plant and soil science, and animal, dairy and veterinary sciences. Chris Boniol Kicking Camp

Ten Star All Star Basketball Camp

Health Career Exploration Camp
The Utah AHEC program at Southern Utah University is looking for high school students interested in pursuing a health care career. On June 16-18, AHEC will host their fifth annual Health Career Exploration Camp on the campus of SUU. All high school students are welcome to attend. The Emery Company and County Camps of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers are looking for young women that are eligible to compete in the Days of ’47 Queen Pageant. Unemployment Insurance Extension
On Jan. 8 President Bush signed a bill extending Unemployment Insurance benefits through May 31. This new extension does not grant additional weeks for individuals who have exhausted their Temporary Extended Unemployment Compensation eligibility.
