Rick Kveset
“Gone Fishing”
PRICE-Richard Stanley Kveset, age 47, passed away Dec. 20, 2003 at his home. He was born April 3, 1956 in Minot, ND to Richard R. and Helen Kveset. Married Sandy Tallerico, June 27, 1980 in Helper.
Rick was an avid outdoorsman and he especially looked forward to his annual elk hunt and fishing trips with his buddies. He was a resident of Carbon County since 1980 where he worked as plumber and coal miner. Rick will be dearly missed by his family and many longtime friends.
Survived by his wife, Sandy Kveset, daughter Kasie Kveset, both of Price; mother, Helen Kveset, Minot, ND; father, Richard (Rose Kveset, Tampa, Fla.; mother-in-law, Florence Tallerico, Price; three sisters, Cindy, Theresa, Susan, brother, Bob; three sister-in-law, LouAnn, Mary and Jerry; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his son, Little Louie; father-in-law, Louie Tallerico; and sister, Tina.
Funeral service will be Dec. 23, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Monday evening form 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery.
Ada Jensen Magnuson
Ada Jensen Magnuson died at 9 p.m. on Dec. 18, 2002, in the Emery County Nursing Care Center. She was 102 years old.
Ada was born Sept. 16, 1901, in Orangeville, to Niels Charles Jensen and Eva Rhoda Burk. She married George Magnuson on June, 11, 1929, later solemnized in the Manti Temple. She was preceded in death by her husband George and two grandsons. She is survived by two daughters; Roma and Gordon Thomas of Bountiful and Charlotte M. Cox of Orem; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Dec. 27 at Noon in the Castle Dale Stake Center where friends and family may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Castle Dale Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Dorothy “Dot” Wilson
PRICE- Our loving mother and grandmother, Dorothy Agnes Tighe Wilson, age 89, passed away on Dec. 19, 2003 in Castleview Hospital in Price.
She was born on Sept. 20, 1914 in Cortez, Colo. to Jake and Birdie Culp Tighe. She married Clarence Wilson on March 6, 1934 in Price; he died Nov. 16, 1997.
Dorothy was a longtime resident of Carbon County where she was an avid bowler and a proud member of the Carbon County Hall of Fame for bowling. She loved the outdoors, fishing, riding the four-wheeler and her trips to Wendover.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Jack (Karen) Wilson, Ogden; Bob (Madelene) Wilson, Orangeville; Debbie (Raymond) Lofley, Price; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, sisters, Helen Rollins, Lucille Sweeney and Thelma Pearhson. Funeral service will be Tues., Dec. 23, at Mitchell’s Funeral Home. Family was at Mitchells on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and before the services one hour on Tuesday. Interment in the Price City Cemetery.
Rudolph Zaccaria
“Rudy Zac”
HELPER- “Rudy Zac,” from way back, raised in the shadows of left field in Helper, died Dec. 17 in Salt Lake City.
Born Dec. 5, 1919 in Sunnyside, to Frank and Antonia Pucci Zaccaria.
Married Loa Mae Hreinson, Oct. 31, 1945 in San Francisco, Calif.
Member of the Catholic Church and longtime resident of Helper. Served US Army during WWII. Retired member of the United Mine Workers of America, Castle Gate Operations. “Rudy Zac” will be dearly missed by his family and many dear friends.
Survived by his wife Loa Mae Zaccaria, Helper; three sons and one daughter: Darryl (Judy) Zaccaria, Kirkland, Wash.; David (Ann) Zaccaria, Price; Trudy (Billy) Petersen, Salt Lake City; Robert Zaccaria, Scottsdale, Ariz.; brother, Frank (Mary) Zaccaria, Cooperton; sister-in-law, Katherine Zaccaria, Helper; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, son, Dean; brother, Steve Zaccaria and sister, Margaret Felice.
Funeral Mass was held Dec. 20 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church, with a vigil service Friday evening at the church in Helper. Under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
Blanche M. Nicholson
PRICE-Blanche Moynier Nicholson, age 86, passed away Dec. 18, 2003, at her home. She was born June 8, 1917 in Price to Honore and Maria Blanchard Moynier. At the age of 3, her mother died and she was raised by her Aunt Lea Moynier and Uncle Pierre Moynier. Blanche spent six years living on a farm in Alberta, Canada and after the death of her father, she returned to Price in 1933 where she later graduated from Carbon High School.
On June 8, 1941, Blanche married Arthur Mace Nicholson in Price and he later died on Jan. 16, 1995.
Blanche enjoyed being in the mountains and fishing with her late husband. She was a loving mother with a heart of gold and her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by son, Arthur M. (Anita) Nicholson, Carbonville; daughter, Margaret (Michael) Heath, South Jordan; sister, Bertha Lyons, Roseville, Calif.; cousin Paul (Mae) Moynier, Price; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews and dear nephew, Paul (Charlene) Dupin, Price. Preceded in death by parents, brothers, Honore Jr., Marius; and sister, Marie Abbott.
Funeral Mass was held Dec. 20 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil service was Friday evening at Mitchell Funeral Home. Committal service, Price City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church.
Beulah Ann Blackburn
PRICE-Beulah Ann Blackburn, age 77, passed away Dec. 18, 2003 in Price. She was born May 15, 1926 in Vernal to Ezra and Bertha Ann Kendel Boren. Beulah married Marion Blackburn in 1945, later divorced. She married William Blackburn and he preceded her in death in 1994.
She shared many happy hours in the outdoors with her family. She loved to shop and go to yard sales and raise beautiful roses.
Beulah is survived by children: Gloria and Clarence Williams and Joan and Richard Williams, all of Hemet, Calif., and Douglas and Paula Blackburn of East Carbon; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-children and three great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother Lorenzo Boren and sisters Alberta, Lula, Lela and Wanda. Preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, stepson Billy, brother, Darrell and sisters Verda and Edna.
Graveside services will be held Dec. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Orangeville City Cemetery. A viewing will be held a 10 a.m. prior to the graveside at Fausett Mortuary in Price.
Pearl Swenson
KENILWORTH-Pearl Elizabeth Parry Swenson, age 84 passed away Dec. 18, 2003 in Price.
She was born May 12, 1919 in Winter Quarters to Thomas William and Lima Carget Peterson Parry.
Married Don Swenson, Nov. 26, 1945 in Price and they just recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.
Member of the LDS Church. Pearl loved camping with her family and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and many longtime friends.
Survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Don Swenson, Kenilworth; two daughters, Dixie Blackham, Helper; Vickie Olsen, Wellington; six grandchildren: Crystal Swenson, Kenilworth; Stephan Blackham, Montrose, Colo.; Jodie Blackham, Price; Bobbie (Lance) Carter, Vernal; Amy (Bob) Ganser, Rangley, Colo.; Wade (Roxanne) Olsen, Wellington; sister-in-law, Rhea Parry, Helper; 11 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Dec. 22 at Mitchell Funeral Home. Interment, Scofield Cemetery.
