Letter to the Editor: Speech about liberals

By PATRICK SUNDSTROM Emery

Editor,
I read your coverage of the Emery County Democrat dinner. Mr. Dooley’s speech about liberals was quite amusing. Having studied liberals and their views, I have come to some conclusions about them which I believe, while disturbing, are quite accurate.
Let me be clear I am not speaking about people who say they are Democrats, I am talking about liberals. Liberals are socialists and promote a far left wing agenda. They have infiltrated and taken over a once great party and are destroying it. Liberals do not like America, its values and traditions, and will do anything in their power to destroy this country and anyone who loves it.
Liberals are moral and physical cowards who hide behind the rights and freedoms bought by young and promising men with blood, and then seek to deprive people of the most important right we have. That right is defined in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. As far as I can tell, the only right liberals truly value is the right of a mother to kill her unborn child.
The liberal Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee made that quite clear during the confirmation hearing for Justice Samuel Alito. The liberal Democrats in the house and senate have been doing their very best to cause this country to lose the war on terror, and contrary to what Mr. Dooley might say, some of the comments they have made about our president and members of his administration have been, in my view, at the least seditious, and at the most treason.
I think it is time for good Democrats like Mr. Dooley to stop being apologists for the liberals in his party and start sending them back to the socialist party where they belong. I know its got to be embarrassing to have Nancy Pelosi, Teddy Kennedy, Harry Reid, and Hillary Clinton as the face of the Democrat party. I know they can do better and hope they do.
In closing, I would like to say I agree with Mr. Dooley, we should all be humbled by the words of Abraham Lincoln, he was a great president and a great Republican. God bless America. I apologize in advance to any liberals who I offended by mentioning God.
