The Emery County Progress won 12 awards at the Utah Press Association Better Newspaper Competition. They competed against other newspapers with a circulation of 2,499 or less. They won first place in best editorial, best classified pages and best web page design, three-third place- best circulation promotion, best sports column, best advertising idea, six-second places, best lifestyle page, best ROP ad campaign, best news coverage, best in-house promotion, best use of a color ad and best sports photograph.
