John Oliver, along with family and friends, will be celebrating his 80th birthday. A surprise party will be held in his honor on Oct. 13 at the Huntington Senior Citizen Center from 5-7 p.m. A light dinner will be provided. No gifts please.
Dorr Williams Hanson Sr.
Dorr Williams Hanson Sr. will be honored by his family Oct. 13 for his 90th birthday. He was born in Ferron on Oct. 19, 1917 to Harold and Ruby Williams Hanson. He married Mary Elizabeth Mathis on Dec. 18, 1938.
They have seven children, 38 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
Dorr has spent many years active in church callings and service and community organizations in Carbon and Emery counties. He was involved in the Special Service District of Emery County for 27 years as a secretary and also board chairman. Presently he is the oldest member of the Huntington Glee Club singing with them 37 years. The Silver Beaver was awarded to him in 1990 for his dedicated work in Scouting.
