Gerald Edward Underwood “Jerry”

FERRON – Gerald Edward Underwood, age 88, passed away June 27, 2011. Jerry was born Sept. 22, 1922 in San Diego, Calif. to Willie Elite and Elsie Richardson Underwood. He married Kathy Weyant on Nov. 8, 1975 in Monrovia Calif.
Jerry was born and raised in California. In his younger years, he worked with his father in share cropping until he was old enough to start driving trucks. He drove trucks until the age of 72 when he retired. He moved to Wayne County in 1983 and then to Ferron in 1999.
He enjoyed numerous outdoor activities, be it camping, fishing, or simply roaming the mountains. Jerry loved animals raising calves, sheep, a pig, and chickens. He also loved to ride his horse and to work in his yard and vegetable garden. He will be remembered as an honest, hardworking man who loved his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathy; children: Dale Barker of Colorado, Jeff Antonicchio of California, Wayne (Amy) Antonicchio of California, and Mike Antonicchio of Idaho; siblings: Dorothy Clements of California, Walter Underwood of Washington, LeRoy Underwood of Arizona, Sidney Underwood of California, Glen Underwood of California, and Gene Underwood of California; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Elsie Underwood; a son, Jerry Earl Underwood; and a sister, Jackie Underwood.
