The Emery High construction class spent the last school year building a home in Castle Dale. They learned how to roof, put in carpet and flooring, framing and all other aspects of home building. The Emery County School District supports the building of a student built home each fall.
Students who participated in the home included: Kenna Allred, Mathew Behling, Kade Cooper, Nathan Doria, KayCee Farrer, Jade Fielder, Jake Gordon, Tice Guymon, Kraymer Kemple, Aaron Knighton, Joshua Knighton, Timothy Larsen, Quinn Montgomery, Gabrel Mouritsen, Erika Olsen, Samuel Smith and Nick Stoddard. The after school class included: Mathew Behling, Cammie Boyce, James Holland, Nila Keele and Joshua Knighton.
The students enjoyed the roofing and some of them became expert framers during the project. The feeling of accomplishment at the ending of the project was felt by all students.
