Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gladys F. Kuffer Ward, age 93, passed away June 29, 2011 at the Heirloom Inn where she resided for the past seven years.
She was born Jan. 25, 1918 in Needles, Calif. to Lucien and Jeanne Kuffer.
Married John Kenneth Ward, Sept. 4, 1937 in Las Vegas, Nev. and he preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1995.
Gladys was an active member of the Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and other children’s ministries. She loved to keep busy and for years she volunteered as a French teacher. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and they toured Europe and most of the United States. She will be dearly missed by her family and many dear friends.
Survived by her daughters, Judy (Pete) Fox, Paradise, Calif., Lonna (Malcolm) Howard, Price, Frances (Allen) Butler, Vancover, Wash., Evelyn (Larry) Reed, Philpot, Ky., Genny (Rick) Benson, Ferron; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Adrien and Fernand Kuffer; and a sister, Ella Rushing.
Funeral service, Saturday, July 2, 2011, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family was at Mitchell’s Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Graveside service, Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 2 p.m., at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park in West Lake Village, Calif. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Gladys online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
